Meet the Optometrist

Dr. Schmalzle was born in Seoul, Korea and grew up in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. As an Army Optometrist, she travelled all over the world for various assignments, including a 15 month deployment to Balad, Iraq during The Surge. She retired from the US Army after 20 years of service in 2022 and enjoys triathlon, hiking, photography and dance.

* Residency in Family Practice Optometry – State University of New York College of Optometry in conjunction with the United States Military Academy at West Point (2005)

* Masters of Business Administration in Healthcare Management – Fayetteville State University (2012)
